Nose Fillers Treatment
More women are opting for nose fillers to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing nose shape. While the process is pretty straightforward, nose fillers are a great, non-permanent way to add volume to your nose, enhance its appearance, and even smooth out bumps or slightly crooked nose shapes.
Here at CuraMed Medical and Aesthetic Clinic, we can assist you with nose filler treatments to give you that desirable nose shape you have always wanted.
What are Nose Fillers?
Nose fillers are also known as liquid rhinoplasty. The procedure involves carefully injecting a gel-like hyaluronic acid filler solution into your nose via the nose tip or the top of the nose bridge. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that can also be found in our bodies, making it safe to use with a shallow risk of side effects.
Depending on where the solution is injected, it provides additional volume to the nose that can last up to six months. Over time, the body gradually breaks down the hyaluronic acid, requiring a new visit after six months. Proper nose filler treatments are essential to help you achieve the desired results while keeping you safe. Under the watchful care of our highly-trained professional staff, you will be in and out of our clinic in no time.
How a Nose Filler Works
During the consultation with our experts, we will discuss your current aesthetic requirements for your nose and answer any queries or doubts you might have before agreeing to anything. Once satisfied, we will apply topical numbing cream or ice packs to your nose. It may take 10 to 15 minutes before its effects finally kick in.
Once the nose is numbed, our staff will carefully inject the filler into your nose using a small sterilised syringe. Depending on your aesthetic needs, it will be injected into the top of the nose bridge or through the tip (or both, if necessary). Extra care is taken during this process to avoid injecting the fillers into the bloodstream, which can cause complications.
You will see the results almost immediately after the treatment. However, the results can take up to two weeks to settle in fully. We can provide you with touch-up sessions to improve your results. You may also experience some swelling or discomfort in the first one or two days, after which they will subside. If you are still experiencing pain, please let us know immediately.
The other piece of good news is that there is no downtime. After resting for about an hour, you can immediately return to your daily routine.
What do Nose Fillers Do?
While nose fillers are commonly used to enhance the nose bridge, they can also be used for other purposes. For example, individuals with a crooked nose or nasal asymmetry can benefit from targeted filler applications to have a more symmetrical and balanced appearance. Similarly, those with a drooping or sagging nose tip can undergo filler treatment to lift and redefine the nasal tip, creating a more youthful and refined look.
Additionally, nose fillers can be used to correct minor bumps or irregularities along the nasal bridge, resulting in a smoother and more streamlined nose contour. By strategically placing fillers in specific areas of the nose, a doctor can achieve natural-looking results that enhance the overall facial aesthetic.
Nose Filler vs. Nose Thread Lift
Where a nose filler helps add volume to your nose, a nose thread lift uses polydioxanone (PDO) threads to enhance the shape of the nose. These PDO threads are 100 per cent biocompatible with our body and will slowly dissolve over time. As they dissolve, the threads create new tissue collagen and fibroblasts that contribute to a more defined nose contour, spanning from the top of the bridge to the nose tip.
While a nose thread lift can give a more alluring contoured definition, nose fillers have one advantage: They can correct bumps on the nose since fillers can be injected into a particular area where they are needed. Conversely, nose thread lifts cannot do such a thing.
Before you deliberate on picking one or the other, you should know that you can safely use both methods to give your nose a fuller, more well-defined shape. The nose fillers provide a foundation to add height to your nose bridge before relying on the thread lift to define and contour your nose shape.
How Long Do Nose Fillers Last?
Because the body slowly absorbs hyaluronic acid, nose fillers in Singapore tend to last 6 to 12 months. However, you may need touch-up sessions occasionally to maintain the nose’s new shape. Other factors may also influence the lifespan of a nose filler, such as body metabolism, diet, lifestyle habits, genetics, and so on.
How to Reduce Swelling After a Nose Filler
You may experience swelling and discomfort after your nose filler treatment. Avoid touching your nose to allow the filler to settle in without interruptions and prevent bacteria from causing an infection. Also, avoid scrunching up your nose or wearing tight-fitting glasses, as these may push the fillers into other areas of your nose. Ideally, you should not touch your nose in the first 10 hours after treatment.
Here are a few more helpful tips to reduce the swelling.
- Stay hydrated: Drink at least six glasses daily to maintain your skin health and hydration.
- Gentle cleansing: Be gentle around your nose when washing your face. Avoid using harsh cleansers that can interfere with the fillers.
- Apply sunscreen: UV rays harm your skin and can quickly break down the filler. For maximum sun protection, apply SPF 30 sunscreen and wear a wide-brim hat.
- Have a healthy diet: To maintain your well-being, introduce more omega-3 fatty acids, minerals, and vitamins. Reduce your salt intake to minimise swelling.
- Avoid alcohol and smoking: These can leave an adverse impact on your skin health.
What Not to Do After a Nose Filler
It pays to be careful and patient when maintaining your nose filler. Apart from our tips to reduce the swelling, here are a few essential don’ts to ensure your nose fillers settle in nicely and cause zero complications.
- Blow your nose: This is a surefire way to shift the nose filler to other areas in your nose.
- Frequently touching your nose: Even after the filler has settled in, it would be wise to avoid touching your nose too often.
- Falls: Trauma can also cause your fillers to shift out of place and cause other complications.
- Get another nose filler without consulting an expert: Follow your appointed touch-up sessions to avoid issues such as a poorly defined “filler-nose” appearance.
- Ignore expert advice: It is always a good idea to listen to the experts to prevent unwanted issues in the future.
- Exercise: While good for your health, do not exercise vigorously for the first day after treatment.
Types of Nose Filler
Nose fillers can be classified into 2 main types: non-permanent and semi-permanent.
Non-Permanent Nose Fillers (Hyaluronic Acid)
Hyaluronic acid fillers are the most common type of non-permanent nose filler. As a naturally occurring substance in the body, hyaluronic acid is generally well-tolerated while providing a subtle yet harmonious look. Hyaluronic acid fillers can last for about 6 to 10 months before the body naturally breaks them down.
Semi-Permanent Nose Fillers
The second type of nose filler is the semi-permanent ones, which involve surgery. An example of the material commonly used is calcium hydroxyapatite, a mineral naturally found in human bone. They are firmer than hyaluronic acid and can last for 10 to 14 months. However, semi-permanent fillers are usually non-reversible, and you need to wait until your body completely breaks the fillers down before going for another procedure.
Who is Suitable for Nose Filler
Nose filler treatments are generally suitable for healthy men and women who want to improve and enhance their nose profile by heightening the nose bridge or sharpening the nose tip. However, keep in mind that it is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women, or individuals with an active infection near the site of injection. Individuals with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to any component of the filler material such as lidocaine, or have had prior complications in the nose or surrounding parts, are not advised to get nose fillers.
Are Nose Fillers only for Older Individuals?
While older individuals may opt for nose fillers to tackle signs of ageing such as sagging skin, and volume loss, there are no restrictions on who can undergo this treatment. People of all ages can consider nose fillers when it comes to altering their facial features or addressing specific concerns related to the appearance of their noses. Whether it’s refining contours or restoring symmetry, nose fillers offer a versatile solution for individuals across different age groups.
Can Nose Fillers Be Customised?
Some may believe that nose fillers offer a one-size-fits-all solution but in reality, they can be customised according to the needs and wants of each patient. The doctor will examine your facial structure during the initial consultation and discuss your aesthetic goals. Based on this assessment, they will recommend a personalised treatment plan that may include a specific type of filler and the appropriate amount to achieve desired results.
Are Nose Fillers the Same as BTX?
Nose fillers are used to add volume, reshape, or contour the nose. They are often made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that can be found in the body. They are injected into specific areas of the nose to achieve the desired aesthetic result.
On the other hand, BTX is used to relax muscles and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They are usually applied to areas such as the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes. BTX is not used to add volume or reshape the nose
How Long Do Nose Fillers Last and Can They Be Touched Up?
In some cases, patients may wish to adjust their nose fillers to achieve a different look or address changes in their facial structure. Your doctor can adjust the filler to achieve the desired outcome, providing flexibility and control over the final results.
While nose fillers are not permanent, they can last from several months to 18 months, depending on the type of filler used and individual factors. Touch-up sessions or adjustments can help maintain the results over time and ensure the nose retains its appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Nose Fillers in Singapore
Is the nose fillers procedure painful?
Not at all. The topical numbing cream aims to numb your nose sufficiently so you do not feel anything during the procedure. If you are particularly sensitive to pain, please feel free to let us know beforehand so we can accommodate your needs.
How much do nose fillers cost?
The price of a nose filler treatment varies based on the type of filler used, the desired nose shape, and whether additional touch-ups or support is needed.
Which is better: fillers or rhinoplasty?
It depends on your goals. Nose fillers are non-surgical, temporary, and ideal for subtle enhancements with minimal downtime, while rhinoplasty is a surgical option that provides permanent and more dramatic changes, including reshaping or reducing the nose, making it smaller.
What are the risks of nose fillers?
Nose fillers are generally safe, but common side effects are usually mild and temporary. These may include slight swelling at the injection site, redness, tenderness, and minor bruising. These effects typically resolve within a few days, but in some cases may last up to one to two weeks.
Are nose fillers permanent?
Nose fillers are not permanent and typically last up to 12-14 months.
How often do I need touch-ups?
Touch-up frequency depends on the filler type and your metabolism, as faster metabolisms break down filler more quickly. Most people maintain results every 9 to 12 months.
Which is cheaper: BTX or fillers?
BTX is usually cheaper per session but lasts only 3 to 4 months, while fillers cost more upfront but last 9 to 18 months. The overall cost depends on how often treatments are needed.
